I have received a B notice; how do I respond?

First Data sends you a B notice when the legal filing name, Social Security Number (SSN), or Tax Identification Number (TIN) that you have provided to us does not match the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) records. The B notice informs you of the IRS’s intention to withhold 28% of your daily funds, which is known as backup withholding.

Important: If you knowingly give false information to avoid backup withholding, you may receive a fine, imprisonment, or both.
