How do I change the supervisor password on my Genius device?

You can change the supervisor password on your Genius device using the Verifone Administration screen.

Important: If you lose or forget your supervisor password, you cannot reset it using the Genius device. 

To change the supervisor password on your Genius device:

Step 1. On the Genius splash screen, press 1, 5, and 9 on the keypad at the same time to enter System Mode. The Genius device displays a login screen.

Step 2. On the login screen:

  a. Use the keypad to type the supervisor password. The default supervisor password is 166832.

  b. Press Enter.

Step 3. Tap Security > Password Mgr. > Users.

Step 4. Change the supervisor password:

  a. Confirm the supervisor check box is selected.

  b. Use the keypad to type the current password. The default supervisor password is
  166832.

  c. Tap the New field, and use the keypad to type the new password.

  d. Tap the Confirm field, and use the keypad to type the new password.

  e. Press Enter. The Genius device confirms you have successfully changed
  the supervisor's password.

  f. Tap OK.

Note: The supervisor password must be between five and eight digits in length. You cannot use:
• Special characters
• Verifone's default passwords; 166831 or 166832
• The current password

Step 5. Tap Home.

Step 6. On the Home screen, tap Run App to launch the Genius application.
