Note:
• You must continue to support signature as a Cardholder Verification Method (CVM).
• You still need to collect signatures for transactions that legally require them. Check with your local licensing authority to find out when customers need to sign a receipt.
• Some Merchant Category Codes (MCCs) must continue to use chip and signature for all transactions. For more information call our Customer Support Team at (1) (855) 276-5759.

What do my employees need to know?

If you stop collecting signatures for EMV transactions, your employees need to know: 

  • How to process chip and pin or contactless transactions.
  • That they still need to collect signatures for transactions that legally require them.
  • Why there are changes to the payment process, so that they can answer your customers' questions.
